→ How and When do I pay?
Unless previously agreed between Cornwall Trike Tours Limited and the customer, a 50% deposit will be required at the time of booking, with the balance payable no later than 7 days before the tour date. Payment will be accepted by:
- bank transfer, quoting your invoice number/name as the reference (see website).
- by cheque, made payable to Cornwall Trike Tours Limited and posted to our registered office at ‘Lesedna’. Chapel Lane. North Hill. Cornwall. PL15 7PQ.
- By debit/credit card over the phone at the time of booking.
For bookings made with very little notice, e.g. if you are visiting the area on holiday, it may be possible, with prior arrangement, to pay for the experience by bank card or cash on the day. Please speak to us about this.
→ You have booked your Trike Trip. What happens next?
- Cornwall Trike Tours will contact you to confirm your booking, provide a reference number and confirm the details of the Trip. Closer to the time we will send a reminder of the Trip details by email to you.
→ Can I reschedule my Trike Tour?
- We will try our very best to accommodate this, however, during our busier times, rescheduling cannot be guaranteed. Please talk to us and we’ll do our best to help you.
→ What if I have to cancel my booking?
- Refunds will not be paid if you cancel your tour with us. The Trike time has been reserved for you and it may not be possible to fill the tour with another customer at short notice. If you have any problems, then please contact us as soon as possible. We will do our best to arrange another date for you.
CornwallTrike Tours Limited and the owners will not be held responsible for any costs whatsoever, incurred by the customer(s) or any other party as a result of cancellation.
→ I want to book a Trike Trip as a Gift but don’t know the day yet?
- No Problem. Pay the normal deposit first. Then just contact us as soon as you or the giftee know the date and time. Vouchers valid for 12 months.
→ How do the Bluetooth Communications work?
- Each riders’ helmet is equipped with a state of the art bluetooth earpiece and microphone, so we can talk to each other. Your guide can offer commentary on the places we visit. We can play music, you can chat as a pair, or we can be silent and enjoy the pure experience. It really is up to you.
→ What is *‘Rideshare’ ?
- *’Rideshare’ is a way of including more people in an Experience. For example, 4 people can take a two hour Trike Trip, with each pair getting one hour on the Trike. (Plus £10.00 additional charge)
→ Can I ride as a single passenger?
- Yes you can. Please make this clear when booking your Trip. Single passengers get a 10% discount.
→ Are there any restrictions?
- There are absolutely no upper age limits. As long as the passenger is able to wear the lap belt, a helmet and place their feet on the foot pegs, age is no barrier. For safety reasons, children need to be tall enough to be able to rest their feet on the foot pegs throughout the tour. As a rough guide only, a height of 1.25m or around 12 years of age is about right. Please call us for a conversation about this if you are unsure, prior to booking. An adult must accompany anyone under the age of 18 year on all of our trips.
→ What if Cornwall Trike Tours postpones or cancels my Trike Trip?
- Unlikely – but if so, we will refund your full amount. We would also offer you an UPGRADE voucher for a future trip up to 12 months in advance.
→ What happens if it rains ?
- Once booked, our tours go ahead no matter what the weather. We will provide warm waterproof jackets, waterproof trousers, gloves and neck warmers (please refer to ‘What should I Wear?‘ below). However, on some occasions in the interest of safety and your enjoyment, the driver may deem it necessary to postpone the tour to another time. We wish you to experience the thrill of the ride even if it takes a while to agree a mutually acceptable rearranged tour time. If it is deemed impossible to rearrange, for example you are towards the end of your holiday, a refund may be made at the company’s discretion.
→ What should I wear?
- We will provide quality kit. Open-faced helmets with a clear visor/ integrated sun visor and bluetooth communications system. Waterproof jackets and over-trousers, gloves and neck warmers are always available if required. You should wear sensible, sturdy footwear and layers of warm, and preferably windproof, clothing no matter what the weather is like. You can always remove layers and we have secure storage for your kit. Sunglasses are also a good idea. Not only do they look good and stop glare but if you wish to wear the helmet visor up, then they will help protect your eyes.
→ Do you cater for people with disabilities?
- Please see our ‘Access For All’ Statement in the Terms and Conditions document. The short answer is “Yes”. We will work with you to help in any way we can.
→ Do I need to wear a helmet ?
- Yes. Our insurance and licensing terms dictate that this is essential on all our tours. Bluetooth Communication – relies on helmets being worn.
→ How fast do you go ?
- The Trike Trip is not a race. We cruise at a speed that allows you to take in the fabulous Cornish scenery and enjoy the real Trike experience – We savour it, not stress about it. We stop for photos, places of special interest and give way to Moorland animals.
→ Are there photo opportunities in the Trike Tours?
- Plenty. Please see ‘How fast do you go? above.
→ Can I drive the Trike?
- Sorry, this is not possible. Our insurance company would go into meltdown. Cornwall Council Licensing Department would revoke our PHV Licenses. And it takes a bit of practise anyway.
→ Do you run Trike Experiences all year round?
- Yes we do. There are beautiful days in the ‘off-season’. The roads are quieter and general levels of tourism are lower. Some people prefer it like this.
